Flower Power - Mother's Day
Treat your mum and weave some wonderful memories together
Available Places
Workshop Description
A fantastic way to spend the day with your mum! I'll help you create wonderful memories as you weave a beautiful giant flower to brighten your garden, home and heart. This mindful and creative workshop is a perfect way for family to celebrate the mothers in their lives, and is open to dexterous 12-year-olds upwards. It's been designed as a standalone course, but you'll be learning tried and tested basketry skills—the same ones you'd use to make a traditional round stake-and-strand basket bottom. Develop these skills at home or in future lessons to make foraging/shopping baskets, waste-paper bins, oval-bottomed baskets, log barrels, and much more. I'll teach you about the tools you'll need, where to buy, and how to select and soak willow. If you want to bring a friend, get them to book asap, as places are limited (maximum 8 participants). Use of tools and locally sourced willow is provided. Snacks and foraged herb teas throughout the day are included. Bring a packed lunch. Please bring sensible footwear and warm clothes as the barn is open-sided. A certain level of fitness is needed as the compost loo is a short walk away across two meadows. Keep an eye out for other Satori workshops that inspire you! Arrive from 8:30am for a prompt 9am start. We finish at approximately 4.30pm Kindly be advised that participants arriving more than thirty minutes after the start of the workshop will be unable to join, as the class progresses at a unified pace, and restarting would compromise the available time.
