Sleep in a yurt

Reconnect with our nomadic ancestors

'This morning, I saw the most number of butterflies together I had ever seen ... [Satori] is a magical place ... More than ever in these troubled times for our planet and ecosystem we and all non-human life need the sanctuary of places like Satori [and Daisy yurt] to reconnect us to our profound, mostly neglected, sense of sacred belonging and love for Mother Earth.'

Jacqui, 2021

Welcome to Satori

Satori is set on the side of a gently south west sloping valley which levels out in the glade and woodlands where you'll find our endearing Daisy yurt and the other camping pitches.

In Daisy, you'll find a comfy double bed and two singles. All linen and bedding is provided; you just need to bring your own towels. It is also equipped with a sofa, a dining table, and a wood burner to make the space really cosy.

Daisy also has an outside kitchen/porch on a raised deck with a camping gas stove, and all pots, pans, cutlery, plates etc. are there for you to use.

The nitty-gritty

The compost toilet is nearby. She's comfortable, cosy and totally immersed in nature. Although wild peeing is encouraged!

You'll find the washing up sink next to our quirky wood burning shower (eco products provided); there is also a dedicated tap for filtered drinking water from Satori's very own spring!

Important info

Here's what you need to know:

  • No loud parties

  • You are welcome to use the outdoor gas stove, your own BBQ or one of the allocated fire pits, but absolutely no cooking is allowed in the yurt itself

Noise

Smeatharpe Stadium is a few miles away; sometimes car racing can be heard from Satori.

If you are particularly noise sensitive we suggest you contact the stadium directly to avoid booking on their race days.

Or, if you're up for a bit of raucous fun, spend a day out there!

Better still, take time out from work and make a weekday booking with us instead!
